Travel guide

Whether you choose a car, train, or flight, traveling to Gällivare is easy and convenient. Gällivare has daily flight connections with Stockholm-Arlanda, and the airport is only 10-15 minutes from central Gällivare. You will be next to the city center if you arrive by train.

Talk to your accommodation facility or contact Gällivare Tourist Center if you need help with transfers via taxi, airport, or public transport. You who come to Gällivare with your car can choose between roads E10 or E45. Remember to keep your eyes on the road and watch out for animals.

For people traveling by, for example, bus or train and needing parking, there is the possibility of free long-term parking in the parking area below. Please note that the longest permitted parking time is four days. If you need to park for more than 24 hours, you must state this in the email when you fill in your details.

Contact Gällivare municipality by email at tillstand.gata@gallivare.se and state:

  • Name
  • Social security number/birth registration number
  • Phone number
  • E-mail
  • Purpose of your stay
  • Registration number of the vehicle to which the application relates
  • Enter the dates between which the parking permit should be valid

An issued dispensation does not give the right to stop and park where, according to the traffic regulation (1998:1276), stopping and parking is prohibited. Abused dispensation can be revoked.
